I was shopping for another cruiser to replace my 2002 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic, and everything I looked at seemed awfully big and heavy. Then the realization hit that I really didn't need a big old cruiser, I would be better served with a sports tourer, like my Yamaha XJ1100, only a lot newer than its 33 years. I wanted all the bells and whistles, ABS, traction control, fuel injection, traction control, cruise control, radio, etc. After reading some on-line reviews and checking the different manufacturers spec sheets, I decided that the Trophy sounded like something I would like to try. I went to the dealership and rode a brand new one, very impressive! When I took it back to see what it would cost, the salesman told me he had a 2013 with 6k miles, for a lot less. I took it home with me. It is too tall for my liking, I have trouble backing it out of a parking space, so today I took the seat to an upholstery shop to have the foam shaved. Does anybody have any other ideas to lower it an inch or two, to better suit this 75 year old short guy? Also, does anybody make crash bars for this beast?
Thanks for having me here, I'll try to be nice!
