Mirrors Covered Under Warranty
« on: July 31, 2015, 09:08:22 am »
Hi everyone

Just wondering if anyone else had an issue with the coating on the mirrors? I typically use distilled water and a microfiber cloth to clean them, with occasionally glass cleaner. I started noticing small scratches on both mirrors after a few months, which got progressively worse until when the sunlight hit them just right the scratches distorted my view.

Went to the dealer to show him the problem-said he had never seen anything like it. He took photos of both mirrors that showed the scratches and sent them to Triumph not expecting a favorable response. As it turns out Triumph agreed there was a problem and replaced both mirrors, along with the whole bracket assembly, under warranty. Actually sent the parts in 3 days to the dealer, and just had everything installed today at no cost.

I was very impressed with the service, both from the dealer and Triumph. So if anyone else has this problem the precedent has been set, and you should get new mirrors :152:

This is the 1st issue I've had with the bike in 10000+ miles, otherwise it has been a fantastic ride. Can't imagine owning another sport-touring bike for a LONG time   :046:

Ride safe (and fast) :018:

I'm up to 19K miles and have not noticed any problem with the  mirrors.  yes there are a few scratches but not what I would regard as a manufacturing fault. Just general ware and tear.

I use a micro cloth and plain water to wash them.

Well done for getting yours fixed through the warranty.  :028:

I'm just happy the mirrors aren't vibrating while accelerating.   :152:
