while touring France this year we hit a very bad section of road, pretty near launched the bike and both the locking tabs on the box broke allowing the box to open spilling the contents behind us.

That sucks, it looks to be a fairly stout kit, must have been one hell of a bump. That is now on my thinking about it list. Would you still recommend it?

I've always thought those rather practical and cool.  Wonder why we don't have them in the States?

yes the box was locked
It is a very useful first aid kit so will look at either repairing or replacing the box
