Cost of insurance for full coverage on TTSE?
« on: August 24, 2015, 11:04:34 pm »
I just talked to my local insurance agency (here in San Jose, CA) about adding my new 2014 TTSE to my current motorcycle policy.  My 2004 Triumph Daytona 955i, with bare minimum coverage as req'd by CA law, only costs $71/year.  The annual premium will increase to $306/year to add the new bike with full coverage (min. liability + comp & collision with $500 deductible).  So then, the TTSE by itself will cost $235/year.  Does that seem reasonable?

I have 3 late model cars (including an '08 Z06 Corvette) and my house all covered by the same insurance company (Allstate).  I have been a customer with them for over 30 years and have a clean driving record (knock on wood) with no accidents in 20+ years.

Dennis, I've been with State Farm for 28 years with NO CRASHES and I pay $678.36 a year, or $56.53 a month, (just for the TTSE) in Louisiana. I have three vehicles, boat, 4-wheeler, house and the TTSE on the policy.  Insurance fraud is rampant in this state and that is why our premiums are some of the highest in the country... :151:

gee i wish my insurance was the cheap. my basic insurance as required by law is $1,748 a year. but with 20 + years safe driving it is reduced to $996 add the 3 mil liability of $214 so just basic with no extras is $1,210. then i have to go to other company for collision extra and that is $475 a year. We have to get basic from gov insurance, no choice, extra we have a choice.

Insurance is all over the map.  The Trophy was expensive to add to my policy which also included a Gold Wing, a Harley Davidson FXDL, and four old Honda's with only liability.  Adding the Trophy doubled the cost to almost $800 a year.  I have since sold the Harley Davidson and Gold Wing and the Trophy went down to next to nothing.  Right now I'm paying $278 for collision, comprehensive, and 100/300/50 liability on the Trophy and just liability on a '83 CB1100F. The other old Honda's are parked for awhile.
