Bit of a shameless plug... but the Corbin seat I have in the Classified section has provisions for backrest.

I would think any custom m/c seat manufacture would be able to provide a back rest .Only  suggested Russel  because I had one made to my 1999 BMW and it was a Great seat for me.

Utopia, but I don't think they do installs this time of year, they're out riding after about March I think.  You can still get one shipped and install it yourself, which is what I did, and it's not a big deal.  If you do a search for it you'll find my pictures of it installed.  Other comments are on that same thread about it.  If you're worried about cutting on your pillion seat buy an unheated bargain priced one somewhere, or buy the Corbin mentioned above that is a very good price and get Corbin to do an install for you for about $150, plus shipping each way.

had a Utopia on my FJR and it was a quality backrest.   Well done and a great help!

I haven't done my trophy yet bc of heated seat.  I just strap a dry bag on for my backrest.

On short trips I don't worry about a back rest. On longer I either use my wife or strap my travel bag on the seat & lean back on that. It works great plus gives me plenty of storage.
