I betrayed my TTSE in the Rockies.
« on: September 15, 2015, 02:18:38 pm »
I've just come back from a four days tour motorcycling the Rocky Mountains. As far as it was not posible to insert my TTSE in the luggage I had to fly alone from Madrid to Denver. There Irented a Harley Davidson Electra Glide Limited.... And the adventure started.

The Rockies are unbelievable, awsome, nice roads, winding, very well paved, the labdscapes like a dream... Bla, bla, bla..... You, Americans, are very lucky guys with the marvellous that nature has provided to your country.

The HD is a very good bike as well. Just different from the TTSE.

Now, coming back home I have to give some explanations to my bike... Please help me what can I say to her?

Thanks

Glad to hear that you had a great time while over here. Just imagine if you had your Trophy on those beautiful mountain roads how happy she would have been.

You can console her by mentioning to her that at least you went with something in a completely lower class than herself; it was only a one-trip stand. She's still #1.

She may say she forgives you and understands,
but be wary in case she starts looking for another man to ride her  :005:

Thanks you all guys... for your wisdom and advices....

I will try to explain her that nobody is perfect (except the Colonel...); that life provides and provoques opportunities that a rider using rider trousers can not reject; that it has been the first time (Boy Scouts' honour!!!!.... I promise!!!!); that my wife ("a human been") has been always with me, keeping my back and supervising that I performed like a genuine knight and gentleman...

I hope it will be enough as a starting point. After that I will fill the the tank up and will go for a 300/400 km ride...

Thanks again, friends!!!!

Hi Atuti,

here are some things that you may use to assuage your guilt but rest assured a Motorcycle will not hold it against you that you had to ride another in the Rockies; this list is comparing the benefits of a motorcycle compared to a wife (luckily my wife of 42 happy years has no access to this forum!):

Why Motorcycles Are Better Than Women

•Motorcycles only need their fluids changed every 2000 miles.

•Motorcycles' curves never sag.

•Motorcycles last longer.

•Motorcycles don't get pregnant.

•Motorcycles don't have parents.

•Motorcycles don't whine unless something is really wrong.

•You can kick your Motorcycle to wake it up.

•You can share your Motorcycle with your friends.

• If your Motorcycle makes too much noise, you can buy a muffler.

•You only need to get a new chain or belt for your Motorcycle when the old one is really worn.

•If your Motorcycle smokes, you can do something about it.

•Motorcycles don't care about how many other Motorcycles you have ridden.

•When riding, you and your Motorcycle both arrive at the same time.

•Motorcycles don't care about how many other Motorcycles you have.

• Motorcycles don't mind if you look at other Motorcycles, or if you buy Motorcycle magazines.

• New Motorcycles must be asked for, and if you don't want to pay for them, you don't get them.

•If your Motorcycle goes flat, you can fix it.

•If your Motorcycle is too loose, you can tighten it.

• If your Motorcycle is too soft, you can get different shocks.

•If your Motorcycle is misaligned, you don't have to discuss politics to correct it.

• You can have a beer while riding your Motorcycle.

• You don't have to be jealous of the guy that works on your Motorcycle.

• You don't have to deal with priests or blood-tests to register your Motorcycle.

•You don't have to convince your Motorcycle that you're a motorcyclist and that you think that Motorcycles are equals.

•If you say bad things to your Motorcycles, you don't have to apologize before you can ride it again.

•Your parents don't remain in touch with your old Motorcycle after you dump it.

•Motorcycles always feel like going for a ride.

•Motorcycles don't insult you if you are a bad rider.

•Your Motorcycle never wants a night out alone with the other Motorcycles.

•Motorcycles don't care if you are late.

•You don't have to take a shower before riding your Motorcycle.

• It's always ok to use tie downs on your Motorcycle.

•If your Motorcycle doesn't look good, you can paint it or get better parts.

Later

Dave
