    engine cranks not firing

Bike had been laid up for three weeks. Would not start flat battery. Charged  up. Still very difficult to start managed to fire on one cylinder, then two and final all three (thought I was starting  a diesel.)
Let it run for some time before shutting down. Went to start next day no problem. Tried again today engine  cranks very well but just does not fire. Any suggestions?

sounds like fuel is draining away from the injectors. but I don't the fuel system on the TT. Is there any smoke? Do you have enough fuel in the tank? When it was running, did it run well?

I will trade you a quick starting, good running 2013 TTSE for the Vincent, or the Square four!

Sounds like you are not getting fuel to the engine. Fuel pump or wiring connector problem is possible as is no fuel in the tank (duh!) or no fuel being picked up by the fuel line from the tank to the engine.

Another possibility, but it does not account for the rough running before it died completely is a safety switch not being made, but I think in that case the engine would not crank over.

Could be any one of a number of things including those alrready mentioned,
but a good place to start would be to check if there are any Diiagnostic Trouble Codes stored  :169:

Instructions on how to check for these, and display them on the Instrument Panel,
together with a Word document to decode the meaning of any Codes present can be found here :

Clogged fuel injector(s), throttle bodies out of calibration, valves out of adjustment, fuel pump, bad gas, spark plug(s)???

Thank you all for your input,

Due to the fact that you have to have a degree in electronics, and you cannot have your two best mates bump you down the street, I will let Kelly Flynn of SWM Adventure Motorsports, http://www.swmadventure.com/  have a look at it. my father taught me all I know about motorcycles, from using isapon to repair holes in crank cases on the road, putting string under the oil control rings to get you home, but nothing as complicated as the electronics on modern bikes,  :157:

it must be the Brit side of me taking over the Canuck side,  went for one last crank before giving Kelly a call, and would you believe after cranking for a little it started on one, two then all three and is running quite nice in the garage (at the moment). will keep you informed :087:

Just my pen nerd worth as with all the other posts. Bad fuel, dirty injectors. Was the bike running well before you left it for 3 weeks. What has changed in those 3 weeks. Did you fill it up before leaving it.
I know this may sound way off but do not take a fence. Could you have put the wrong fuel in. Ie diesel. This is not uncommon and could give that type of running. Black smoke and black carbon build up in exhaust.

Hope you get it sorted soon.
