    First Impressions!

Impressed. Period. Or perhaps I should say exclamation point?!?

OK reality check, bad bits first.

    - Radio dead out of the crate, they ordered a new module (although may be in the wiring harness); at the end of the day, it being a new bike I really don't mind as I should be listening to everything anyway, bike, motor, squeaks, etc.  Plenty of time for tunes.

    - Cruise control, just toyed with it to see how it functioned, not deactivating with rear brake, presuming an easy fix.

    - Pet Peeve, the storage box up front that locks with motion, should not lock until, say over 30-40mph, in some stop and go traffic, click, click, click as it opens and locks, perhaps I am more worried about it failing from constant activation.

That is all I have for complaints, other than that, what an incredibly smooth, agile and great running bike.  Only on day two.  Day one was pick up and not a lot of time to ride - just really able to get and bring home and find a way to put the first 100 mile break-in on it.  Very difficult to keep under the recommended 3500 RPM, but I found some roadways that made it tolerable.

Day two, grab the wife for a quick fall foliage ride with friends, mostly HD's, as a quick aside I was the front bike and a few of them noted at a stop (we were all riding 2UP) that they needed to check themselves on the road, which was a new stretch for us all, as I was heading into bends and twists at a speed their bikes (that they have been riding for years) could not handle  :018: but we put about 200 hundred on and even with the second break-in cap of 5K on the tach (which was probably a good thing with the missus on the back) it was just an incredible pleasure to ride.

My friends will tell you, I can be a bit over critical, nit-picky and sometimes like most, have expressed buyers remorse at times; but this is hands down, the most fun I have had on 2 wheels in a long time.  I have been riding road for 20+ years (riding some form of motorized 2 wheels for 40)and I  tried a quite a few new bikes out before deciding on this and based upon this extremely limited first set of rides, if you have test driven this bike (as well as some comparisons) and think you want it - buy it!  I really hope this doesn't change, I have read a few posts on this forum, especially of some long timers who for one reason or another are hanging up their Triumph Fob for another;  but yet again, I have not been this initially impressed with a purchase in a long time.

Congratulations on the new Trophy, sounds like you had a couple of great rides. If you think it handles the twisties well with a passenger, wait until you're on it by yourself, its just incredible how well the Trophy handles the curves. I felt the same way when I took mine out for the first few times, honestly it still puts a smile on my face at times a mile wide. I took mine up to the Smoky Mountains (North Carolina & Tennessee) this past year for a week of riding twisties, its hard to put into words just how well it performed. You didn't say if your Trophy was a new leftover 2014 or 2015. Either way, I'm sorry to hear that you have several bugs to be fixed. Doesn't sound like anything major, but it shouldn't be that way on a new bike and the dealer should have caught them. I know Triumph will get it taken care of as their customer service has been top notch in my experience. Welcome to the forum too.

:400: to the forum.  Was it a test ride that did it for you like a lot of us?

Answering two questions:  (Zebraranger) Was a 2014 leftover, but yet new with full Warranty so I am not sweating the those minor details -yet- and yes (Trophied), it was a test drive that sold me.  Narrowed down the bikes I wanted to ride by research and the choice was easy after riding them all.

I would add - not mentioned much before either - how "SMOOTH" the TTSE rides.  The drive train is totally vibration free.  First bike I've ever had with absolutely no buzz whatsoever in the mirrors at any speed.  However, the suspension (TES) is still a bit on the harsh side even in the so-called "COMFORT" setting.  Nevertheless, all things considered, the Trophy is an exceptionally smooth bike with an outstanding triple banger engine.

Welcome and glad to hear you are enjoying the ride. The trophy does that. It is surprising and puts the smile back on your face.
