I had a problem with the brake chattering.  What is the torque setting for those bolts with extentions?

grampon,

If you mean the rear brake caliper bolts they are 40Nm.
( Not 68Nm as mentioned in some Instructions ! )

I've also got a PB Rear Hugger fitted on my TTSE and I too noticed the Rear Caliper Mounting Bolt Torque Setting quoted in the Fitting Instructions was incorrect....

Sorry to be negative, but I removed my PB Hugger this morning because the metal bracket part was rusting :009:

Easy to remove it, but when I started to look more closely the paintwork was very poor and flaking off in a number of places. I have removed the flaking paint and Hammerite painted it but I am disappointed in it after less than a year.

It certainly cuts down the spray, and is particularly useful if riding without the panniers, but I will have to be sure it is not going to rust any more before I put it back on the bike
Now got Black TTSE

Had to do the same as threeup

Removed the PB Hugger.  Cleaned off the rust and flaking paint.  Gave it two coats of black metal paint and while I was at it I replaced the four bolts on the top of the hugger with stainless.

Had the luggage off yesterday giving her a wash as I ride most days of the year,  the four stainless are fine but I can see myself painting the bracket possibly with hammerite next time, soon.

On the PLUS side, the hugger works a treat, just collects all the road crud, salt, and needs a lick of paint occasionally

Hi Everyone,

Apologies for not noticing the posts regarding the rusting brackets sooner, however things are a bit hectic at the office at the moment, lots of new developments and start of the season.

Could those of you that have had the issue please send me a private message with your name, order number, address including postcode and order number ?

I would like to see if there is any pattern to the age of the brackets. I will then refer it to our production manager and can arrange for replacement brackets to be sent to the relevant members.

All the best,
Richard

Just to let everyone know
RichardPB has responded to my PM(a message invited in his post) and is forwarding a replacement bracket - this is the sort of service that we all like to see.

Well Done PowerBronze :047:
