First... let me just say a word of thanks for this fine forum group.  I signed up just to see what people were saying about the Trophy and the many conversations helped me to decide.

Second...  it's great to be connected to people from around the world.  If everyone just rode a TTSE there would be world peace.  Seriously, I look forward to riding through Hinckley on a Trophy and I will invite you-all to join me.

Then... there was an internet offer I could not refuse and after short plane trip to Cedar Rapids, Iowa I was on a 2014 sliver/gray Trophy.  My first 100mi/161km was at night heading to Des Moines.  The next day I put in 700mi/1,127km through two rain storms in Nebraska (and I had to go through Wyoming to add one more state) back to Longmont, Colorado.  I told the sales person in Iowa that this touring bike better be the curser that everyone "triumphs"!  The bike just become more fun after every mile.

I started on a Kawasaki 90 street bike in high school.  I rode a 1972 Kawasaki KZ in college and graduate school.  Sold the bike to feed the family as we moved to my first job.  Wore out three family vans as the kids grew up.  Purchased a 1984 Yamaha Venture Royale in 2008.  Loved the Venture until this first generation second gear problem caught up with me.  Did not think I would find another bike like it, but at 300lbs/136kg lighter and with all the modern technology... I am loving the new bike.  I just can not get why this bike has not taken off in the USA.

The first 800mi/1,287km down the straight interstate were kinda boring.  Last week I went up to Frisco, Colorado.  This bike is great for the curves and altitude.  We were two-up on Loveland Pass in the Rocky Mountains... in a strong wind... at 11,990ft/3655m and the bike was strong.  The heated hand-grips were also a huge bonus at 44F/7C.  To top off the trip, the bike made 60mpg/25.5kpL in the Colorado mountains!!!

Here is lifting up a cup of my favorite Earl Grey.  Cheers.

    Welcome!
My third day with the Trophy found me on I-70 between Denver and Grand Junction in a snow storm.  The Trophy did well.  We bonded that day!

    It's a great bike.

I think few sports touring people in the USA are aware of the Trophy.  They just head to the Yamaha or Kawasaki or BMW dealer.
