Yet another greeting from Colorado!
« on: October 22, 2015, 07:23:21 pm »
I just purchased a really nice 1998 BRG Trophy 1200 and I am doing a fly and ride to Dallas this Sunday to pick her up.   :001:  Excited I am!

This will be my first Triumph although I have always admired the Trophy.  I have had a lot of Moto Guzzi's and a smattering of other bikes.  I currently have really nice 2002 Moto Guzzi V11 Lemans and 2012 Suzuki vStrom 650.

Noob question.  Is there a terminology used to easily distinguish between the older and new Trophy 1200's?

Welcome to the Forum :400:

In answer to your question, this Forum is dedicated to the "new" Trophy but of course all are welcome to participate and we do want you to stick around. .  It is just that you won't find much discussion about the "old" Trophy here.
There is another forum which discusses all models of Triumphs.  That is http://www.triumphrat.net/

Hi Kingofgix and :400: to the Forum !

Discussions on Triumph Models other than the "new" Trophy can ( and should - to avoid any confusion )
be held in this Section : "On Two Wheels - Bikers Chat"

The previous Model Trophy was available as a 900cc Triple, or 1200cc 4 cylinder,
and are often referred to as "Trophy3" or "Trophy 4", to distinguish them
from the "new" ( as of 2012 ) Trophy and Trophy SE  :028:

Cheers  :821:

Hey, welcome to the forum.  How was the ride home?  Did my fly and ride to Iowa.  I am just over in Longmont and would be interested in seeing the Triumph4.
