Hey, free tire.
« on: October 23, 2015, 04:45:53 pm »
I just got a new 13 Trophy a couple weeks ago. It was a factry VIP bike with 6100 miles on it. Before I bought it from an out of state dealer I asked about tire condition.   They told me the tires were great. Well 800 miles later we have cords showing on the rear tire. I sent a messageto te dealer not expecting much. I also ordered a PR4 from Dennis Kirk. Today I got 2 deliveries. The PR4 I ordered and also a Pirelli Agel GT from the dealer. I am putting the free Pirelli on the bike tomorrow. I will try the PR4 next time. 2 thumbs up to the guys at Kissell Motorsports in State College PA.

Great service....the original Angel GTS have got a history of looking fine and then suddenly going threadbare!

In my opinion the PR4's are much better tyres

Stock tires are Angel ST, predecessor to the Angel GT.  Also, quite often, OEM tires are built to Mfr's specs and not identical (IMO inferior) to aftermarket tires sold with the same name.

+1 on that.  They handle every bit as well as the Pirellis and certainly wear longer.  I got about 7500 miles on my Pirellis, tops.  I just replaced my PR4s while visiting my brother in NY.  They had 8000 and could easily have gone another 4000.  I replaced them only because 1) the rear had a nail puncture 2) I get them at cost from my brother (he is a Triumph dealer)  and 3) I plan on putting another 2-3000 miles before I get home to Texas.  So far the PR4s are the best tire I've found.
