Has anyone had to add oil before 10,000 mile oil change? If so, how often did you add oil.

Ditto but have not checked the oil level yet. I don't expect to top up between services during the early life of the bike. That said, I shall check before and after the Scotland trip just to see whether there is any difference.

I haven't but I think the better question is ..."have you?"   If you have on a new bike I would go have a talk with the dealer.

Just had my 10k service performed @9700 miles. Oil level always stayed within the lines on sight glass. Never had to add a drop, with 95% riding done on freeways. The shop used motul 300v 15 / 50. Anyone else using such a heavy oil?

I would be very concerned about a modern engine consuming ANY oil between services....

Exactly.

If you could see it you know you have a problem. If it is burning it you have an even bigger problem.
