Service during warranty period
« on: October 28, 2015, 11:48:19 am »
I tend to hate taking my bike to stealers ( sorry I meant dealers) for service. They are so damn overpriced it just ridiculous. I've got a new 2013 leftover and been told that 10000 miles services will run 600 dollars. That's just crazy for basically an oil change and a once over. There an excellent shop in my neighborhood that is well known for its high quality work on bmw's. I haven't recieved the cost estimate yet for a 10,000 mile trophy serviceing from them yet, but I'm wondering if anyone knows if my warranty will be affected if I go in this direction.

Thanks

Greygoose

You can have your service performed any place you like, as long as it conforms to Triumph's service recommendation, without voiding the new vehicle warranty. You can even do it yourself.  Keep documentation so you have proof if a warranty claim arises.  This shouldn't be an issue if you have a shop do the work.  If you do it yourself, keep receipts for expendables like oil and filters.   FWIW, some of the service requires specialized Triumph diagnostic equipment so your local mechanic may not be able to perform some of the service in accordance with Triumphs recommendation.

Invest in dealertool from the UK.  Then you or your local guy can perform everything short of loading any new software loads.

I won't let the dealer techs touch my bike.  I hope I don't have any warranty claims.  Hopefully this bike is a trouble free as by bud's ST triple was.
