I am liking the upgraded suspension, but don't need the increase in displacement or liquid cooling. The cost is probably going to hurt sales.

Apparently (from my Triumph Dealer source) the move to Liquid Cooling and ABS etc is to meet the upcoming change in European Regulations on Safety and Emissions..

14k sticker for the base Thruxton, and probably thousands more for the R version is too much!!!

The same reason given for going to water cooling on the boxer twin according to a BMW dealer - it couldn't pass upcoming EPA requirements without it.  All these engines have to run so lean now to pass emissions standards that they generate tremendous heat that air cooling cannot overcome in some riding conditions.  Just can't say enough about the EPA...., oh wait I I didn't mean it.  I don't want another search at the airport.  :017:

Some on the TRIUMPHRAT.net forum have already placed orders. They look to be awesome machines. I lust for the T120!
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.
