I read that the "more power" comes from the same 1215cc triple, but with a new exhaust. More could be 2 hp... who knows?

Sales gimmick with an exhaust related boost  :187:

New engine would require re tooling the production line  :114:

I just got an e-mail about something "epic" coming and it related to an Explorer.  The list included semi-active suspension, whatever that may be, hill hold, electric windscreen, and  abs and traction control with lean angle sensors.  There is a short video.  Looks like more direct competition for BMW and Ducati but without full active suspension, which I hope eventually makes its way to the Trophy without a huge price increase.

I highly doubt it's a brand new engine... or even a heavily revised one.  I agree it's likely just intake/exhaust tweaking.  The plumbing on the Explorer is different from the TTSE, so not sure if any of that will be transferable.  I hope I'm wrong though and Triumph does make some substantial gains - maybe with VVT, or good old cc's?  Now that the R1200 wasserboxer is on parity powerwise with the 1215cc triple, Triumph could use a power boost.

In any case, I don't think more power alone is enough for me to upgrade, but if they package it with a host of refinements, I could be tempted.  Still, the TTSE as is doesn't have a whole lot leaving me wanting.  Maybe better instrumentation and controls.  A restyled front end with three headlights would be fantastic.  C'mon Triumph, it's a... Triple, remember?  Just because BMW stole that design cue doesn't mean you should give it up.

The 2016 Trophy is listed on Triumph's website with no changes.

The Tiger's new models were revealed at EICMA last week: http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/triumph/2015-eicma-triumph-tiger-explorer.html
