Observations of biking in India
« on: November 30, 2015, 08:10:40 pm »
Just back from a short holiday to India - the worlds 2nd most populous country. For anyone who hasn't seen it for themselves t would describe their urban traffic as rather busy and chaotic. The commuter bike of choice is the Honda Hero a small 97cc single cylinder machine. Female pillions sit side saddle, 3 up on a bike is common, 4 up not unusual and i even saw a few 5 up's, which must require a fair degree of rider skill to keep everyone safe. Google "6 man Indian bike" for a short video clip of how to make the most of your pride and joy. Would I ride my Trophy through Delhi? Only very early or very late on a Sunday as I doubt I have the skill or nerve to survive at any other time.  :005:
Life isn't a dress rehearsal so enjoy it.
