I've had my TTSE for 2 years, but am just getting round to publishing pics of my trips.... But, here's 'The Last' one this year...  I hope to get out again, but ... winter is upon us...

Kinda reminds me of late Fall in Upstate New York, which I don't miss at all! :190:

66 winters up here is enough for me.. Working on an escape plan.....   Snowbirded the last 3 years, grand...  3 months of summer here is great, the rest pretty much sucks.... Love northern Georgia, would like to make that happen....

A nice ride indeed Jan! Roads are in pretty bad condition over there I must say. :190:

Good trip.   I need to find bigger and longer roads.

I have been thinking about USA coast to coast or Route 66.   Does Route 66 live up to all the hype, or would I be better just finding my own route across the States?

Phil, I have not ridden Route 66 but I have been across the country on the bike.   A big factor in your planning will be what time of year you will do it.  You don't want to be too far south in July or August, it can be way too hot.  You can run into snow in the Rocky Mountains in May.  I'm sure there are experienced riders on this board that can guide you to some incredible sights if we had some more information.
    Good luck.

    Thanks,

I hadn't thought about it being too hot.  I was half thinking of going from Miami to San Francisco.  Probably run up 3500 miles and as I will have a pillion it will probably be 300-350 per day with Hotel stops en route.

One big question:  should I ship my own bike over or hire one when I get there?

PS this won't be until 2017 at the earliest as we have already decided on NOrth France for 2016.
