Gearbox / engine noise after 100 km / Hour

I'm very new on the TTSE world and very happy with it also.

My TTSE 2014 is only 800 km and when I drive  from 90km/h to 120km/h I hear a loud noise coming from the engine or gearbox that often can barely hear some music.

Someone has faced this kind of problem?

I've seem many other posts about the head issues but I'm not sure if the problem posted looks the same like mine.

Do you guys knows how to verify if my bike is affected with the head  issue ?

Thank you for any kind of tip or ideas.

only some 2013's had the problem.

let your dealer hear your bike or ride another to see if the gear whine is normal.

My 2014 Trophy also seems to have excessive gear noise/whine.  It doesn't appear to be from the rear bevel housing, but from the transmission or front bevel gear housing.  I recently talked with another owner of a 2014 model, and we discussed the gear noise.  He said that he was concerned about the excessive gear noise when he first purchased his, and didn't know if it was normal.  He assured me that what I hear is normal, as he has put over 20,000 hard miles on his, without any failure.  We both agreed that wearing a good full face or modular helmet, or ear plugs is necessary for noise reduction.

The Cylinder Head "Recall" ( which wasn't a full recall - it was described by Triumph as an "Upgrade" )
applied to all Trophy's with VIN Numbers up to 602960.

If your VIN is earier than this, your Dealer should be able to check to see if it had the "Upgrade".

If not, and you are concerned about the noise, you can discuss getting the Upgrade work done,
which was offered by Triumph to ALL UK owners free of charge, and to owners outside the UK on request.

    Cheers  :821:

Thank you guys, My engine VIn is about 636815, so probably it is not the case.

anyway, I'm going to contact the post-sales team in UK to confirm what can I don about it.

Thank you so much guys for all replies and ideas.

    Best regards,

Friends, I'm sorry to insist on this, but I have to confess that the hiss coming from the engine is bothering me a lot.

I see many of you saying that the engine noise is normal but I am convinced that my engine, exchange or final drive is making a very loud noise only between 61milhas per hour to 64 miles per hour.

So please, does anyone have any audio or video post with the noise you guys consider it normal for me to compare with my problem?

I've confirmed that my engine VIN isn't part of the recall one.

    Thank you,

It would be hard to say without actually hearing your engine noise. The head issue on the 2013 models is not a hissing noise, its more of a loud excessive tapping/rattling noise. Since its a 2014, it would still be under the factory warranty, why don't you take it into the dealer. They should be able to tell you if there is a problem.

Hey apaulino, sorry to hear you are having concerns. Couple of quick questions. What gear are you in when running between 90 & 120 Km's? Does it make the same noise in 5th, 4th, 3rd? Can you get a recording of it while on the centre stand? Is it quiet in 5th then make noise when you shift to 6th?

What happens after 120 Kms? Does the noise go away or is it just harder for you to hear it. What are you wearing for a helmet? Full face, open face, brain bucket or no helmet?

Can you discern if it is engine noise or drive train noise?

Just trying to get a better idea.

There are many here who would like to help given enough info so thanks for your response.
