Last of the Christmas swag...
« on: January 01, 2016, 09:37:33 pm »
Kind of a dreary day today so I took the time to install the last of my bike-related Christmas gifts...

Added some reflective "TROPHY" vinyls to the rims.  They don't look too bad, I'm curious to see how they hold up.

My wife seemed rather dubious when I mentioned that I needed to take a ride to see if the handling is affected.  Some days she seems to know me too well.   :008:

They really stand out when hit with light.

Might be pretty dazzling for the headlights of 4 wheelers that catch them as you zip along...   :005: :087:

My tires on my pedal bike have reflective bands - not sure what they look like to cars at night...

Didn't they do them with "TROPHY SE" instead ?

I only realised the other week that the way to identify a Standard Trophy from an SE from a distance (when viewed as an oncoming vehicle) is by the colour of the Front Forks..... Black on an SE and Silver on a Standard

1997 Trophy 900 MkII (aka My Lady Sharon)
2012 Trophy SE MkIII (aka Sophie)

The presence or absence of an aerial on the fairing does it for me.
The world is divided into 10 types. Those who understand the binary system and those who don't.

No, all they had available was, "TROPHY", though they do state that they can customize any request.  They offer many different bike models, colors - gloss, matte, reflective or not.

I hadn't realized that, Gordon - I had to look.  You're absolutely right - my SE has black forks.  Didn't notice when I was installing the radiator guard, either.
