I Got My Brother-In-Law to get a Triumph

Well after several months I have gotten my B-I-L to for go his old 2002 BMW 1150 RT , for a Triumph , though not a Trophy,,,, a 2013 Tiger Explorer.
Now with the same motor with more HP and TQ and 90 LBS lighter he should be able to keep up with me.
He still has a BMW 2002 R1150 but I'm working on that too.

Last weekend we went to the Motorcycle show here in Dallas but first I took him to both Triumph dealers here ,, Go ME!! and after we went to the show we went back to the dealer that had the Explorer I was working on him to get a new one but we went back and he rode the used one and then started to plan.
I called my sister to make sure that she knew it was my fault and now it's a done deal.
Not a Trophy but another in the family.

He has to ride in he lives in west Texas so a little over 200 miles here and then to pick up the Explorer and then home I may just tag along to make sure things go well and it gives me a excuse to ride "like I need one"

I came up with a ride after he picks up his Explorer that adds a few twisties and about 300 miles total.
Last year we rode out to Northern California about 5000 miles he was on his BMW R1150 setup for touring and I was on my Tiger 1050 he was having a hard time of it.
This year I'm going to Seattle if he wants to go he has the bike for it now.
So I think I happier than he is right now till he rides the Explorer , it's not a Trophy but it has the motor so a good start.

    Well done!
If too many of us get the word out there will be a Triumph shortage and prices will skyrocket! Be careful!
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.

For me it's all about the ride.
I don't know about prices but will have to see.

    Ok odd thing.
I was telling my BIL that the 20,000 mile service was when the valves adjustment was needed the Explorer was just over 17,000 miles.
But his owners manual shows it 10,000 miles and then at 30,000.
So what's the difference , I was under the impression that the Explorer and our Trophy share the same motor.
His Explorer is a 2013 and my Trophy is a 2014 does the year model make a difference?
