yellow sensor on top of radio
« on: February 07, 2016, 07:16:05 pm »
Hello everyone,
Somewhere on this forum I have found an item about removing the small compartment above the radio, to get more storage-room.
I did so and now I found a little yellow sensor on a single wire, hanging loos.
I also found a little mount and I have decided to put the sensor in that mount.
Now tere are two questions: 1. Did I do the riht thing by putting the sensor in that mount?
                                           2. What is this sensor meant for? should it be loose by purpose?
I hope anyone of you Trophy-addepts can help me with my questions.

Hi barbarossa,

I don't know what it is just from your description.

Could you post a photograph ?

What colour is the wire that is attached to it ?

Member Gordon3XBBB might know as he has removed his Audio Unit
and that might have been his Post you read  :169:

I'm intrigued by this wire/sensor too,.....I've not even had time to remove the 'tray' on mine yet so haven't even seen it for myself.

It just begs the question, if it's not in the way/important, I wonder why Triumph didn't fit a deeper storage tray in the first place? Surely having a bit more storage space is a good selling point??

Somewhere in General Chat I have found the photo that I intended to post (Obvious did not work) showing the yellow sensor.
It is said to be for antenna use in the states and not important.
This answers my question, so thanks everyone who did an effort to help.

Is this the one you mean "barbarossa " - see attached

There's no connection for it on the Audio Unit so I would assume it's for those TTSE's that have the XM Antenna fitted - items 99 and 100 on Page 18.51 of the Service Manual - for those that want to check my assumption....

That is the one that I mean and not succeeded in posting.
My computerskills are minimum, that is why I visit the forum for two years, just reading.
Short time ago I managed to log in. However I am not often on the computer.
Not like Coconut, who knows an answer to any question and is very helpfull in solving many problems.
Probably we will meet again sometimes on the forum (or somewhere on the road)
We planned an Ireland and Walestrip for june.
