Autozone Stubby Antenna (Pictures)
« on: February 07, 2016, 09:19:53 pm »
I have searched some to find what guys are using for stubby antennas and found autozone as a possibility.  I picked one up today and for others interested I thought I would snap some pictures.  The base tapers well.  This is their carbon fiber version at $15.99.  The plain was $8.99.

The last picture just shows a size comparison between the stock to stubby.

Thanks for the info! I have been wanting to do this. How much does the reception suffer?

See,, I have always leaned more towards productive than looks.  Thats why I installed mirrors so I can actually see what I need to behind meand to the side.  I was looking for a antenna UPGRADE to improve the reception.
But then In 1975 I installed a 23 channel CB radio on my 1975 Honda CB550 with a 102 inch fiberglass antenna, with a 200 watt linear amplifier in trunk.
A nasty weather day riding is still better than any day working

I've just fitted one of these  ( 4.7" ), much better reception and no longer `flaps' about at speed  :028: .
Took just a minute to swap over and only  cost £4.09.  :152:
The existing antenna unscrews
anti-clockwise,  just hold secure at its base.   Below is the Link for `Fleabay'   You can
order different sizes.
( I've no connection with this product/sale )
