So far I've only ridden the bike on 'Normal', I'll have to try the other two for myself one day, just wondered what you guys think of the options in general and how much difference do you actually notice?

I change my settings depending on the circumstances.

Riding alone:Solo preload and normal dampening is usually very good unless really pushing it, then I will change dampening to sport.

Riding two up: double preload and sport dampening. I think the bike is sprung a little light for my taste but very good for a factory setup.

Comfort and normal setting are more compliant over harsher bumps.

At 170 lbs and 61 years I find the "sport" mode too stiff for most riding. I run 1 up/normal when solo and 2 up/comfort when with my wife

    Mainly on NORMAL.

Always set to SINGLE RIDER only, even when two up with full luggage etc.
To test a man's character, give him (horse) power.

Comfort: when the wife is on the back and we are taking our time on a tour.

Sport: when on my own and I need to push it a bit.

For load, I go with what's called for. As for the mode, when riding to/from work March/April thru Nov, I use COMFORT mostly because the roads in my area are terrible. When "going for a ride", I use NORMAL. I haven't experienced much riding in SPORT because I simply wanted to get a few K under my belt in both the other modes, which I have, so this summer I'll be experimenting with SPORT more.

When I'm two up, which isn't very often at all, I go comfort.

I notice a difference between them. Not huge, but it's noticeable to me.

I use them all! One of the best things about the Trophy...you can "tune" it for any situation.

I'm about 275 pounds geared up, and my 135 pound wife is about 150 pounds geared up, and with a little luggage that makes 450 pounds payload so ....

    .... I'm ALWAYS on the max preload/damping!!
