    NON-Locking fuel cap replacement?
    on: Mar 02, 2016, 10.23 pm

I ride my Trophy long distance and fill up several time as day, so it's kind of a pain to remove the key, open the fuel cap, fill up, lock the fuel cap, then re-insert the key into the ignition. I'd much rather just shut off the engine with the kill switch and leave the key in the ignition so my GPSs and windscreen don't shut down.

I have yet to be able to locate anyone who sells a billet fuel cap replacement for the new Trophy. Has anyone else found one?   :148:

The Rocket, Tiger, and I believe the 675 and Street Triple all have the same type and diameter fuel cap as the Trophy, but the Trophy doesn't sit flush with the top of the tank, it has that spill ring that comes up over the outside, which makes it different.

Have you thought about carrying an extra non transponder key? Just a thought.

I have, but then that adds another piece to deal with. As simple as it may be, every second counts when you're on the clock and I like to keep things simple. I don't use pumps for my aux tank or hydration either because gravity and suction never fail.

I don't know if you have looked at replacements that fit the Rocket and whether they will also fit the Trophy.  Check ebay for "triumph rocket gas cap" to see if there are any possibilities.

Uh.... You might want to read the last paragraph of my OP. They are the same pattern and diameter, but not the same as what's on the Trophy. They are different part numbers in Triumph's system too.

Is my information sharing so specific it's that obvious who I am? Lol.

Yes I got another Trophy. It's IMO the best rally bike in the world. You can make an argument for the FJR but only because so many people ride them, and people ride them because they are cheap and proven, not because they are better. I want to prove to the world that the Trophy is the the bike to beat if you want the best.
