display screen going dark after being left in sunlight
« on: March 28, 2016, 03:06:12 am »
Hi all,
the centre display screen seems to have a habit of getting burnt sfter a spell in direct sunlight.I was wondering if anyone has a fix or mitigation solution for this,I was thinking of getting some car window tint and putting on the screen, also putting a slight tint on the main screen mainly to act as some protection against stone chips what do you fellas reckon.
Only a mtorcyclist knows what breed of bug it is by taste

I also live in a very sunny location. Mine has done it in the past, but it always comes back. What I do now if its going to be parked in the sun for long periods of time, I cover it with a towel that I carry in my side luggage.

This has previously been discussed quite extensively here : Dark Display

Short answer is that it is due to the inherent properties
of a Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD's) which are affected by heat.

Covering the display when parked to keep direct sunlight off
can help, but if it's really HOT this will still happen.
