Birthday ride
« on: May 21, 2013, 11:30:40 PM »
I have the tradition of taking my birthday off. This year I decided to hop on the new TTse and enjoy the beautiful sunshine. Left my home in Escondido and headed up the Hwy 15 over to Hwy 76 and up the Palomar loop again. Stoppedmamfew times for pics. Went passed Lake Henshaw ant took the cut off to Mesa Grande road. It was totally deserted! Came down the hill and rode into Santa Isabel made an eastward turn and rode into Julian for lunch. Ate at the Julian Cafe (great food). Headed south out of town and rode over to Lake Cyumacca. If you EVER get a chance..take Engineer road back over to hwy 79 (Julian road). I didn't pass a single car in at least 20 miles of very twisty picturesque pavement!  :046: took 79 back to Santa Isabel and rode over to Ramona then out Highland valley road back over to Hwy 15 and home. Went about 140 miles. Going for another birthday ride next year! Anyone want to join me? :001:

I took my riding club on a similar route last summer (although coming from the north (San Bernardino) with a stop over at the telescope.  Love South Grade Rd!
