Headlamp - replacing the bulb - is there an easier way?
« on: April 07, 2016, 01:27:31 pm »
The service manual says : "remove the lower yoke" - easy
"Remove bulb cover" - less easy but still possible - though by now I am thinking that replacing things will be tricky as I cannot see what I am doing
"Detach the bulb retainer..." - I really feel uncomfortable doing this as I cannot be sure I am detaching the correct bit

Is there an easier way?
Am I missing something??
Now got Black TTSE
Used to have Pre-Launch Trophy - lowest recorded Trophy VIN
Why Threeup? Me, SWMBO and her bear (Fredbear)

Coconut's How To had a number of additions that were helpful

I found going in from the top a lot easier and I could just see what I was doing

Here's a link to the HOW TO: Replace headlamp bulb ....... topic.

The photographs should help you work out what goes where,
but as has been mentioned, it can be easier to get in from above
after turning the handlebars to one side or the other.

I have to agree. I read thru Coconuts How To and it was immensely helpful.

Easier way, depending on the size of your digits and forearm you may want to enlist the help of a smaller person, task remains the same but for some it is much easier than others.

I too suggest you read coconuts instructions and approach with confidence like you know what you are doing. This is going to sound stupid now but, after many failed attempts it is often better to stop, give it a minute and try again behaving like you've done it a hundred times and Bang... it's done

Good luck, you'll be fine
