Tired of Skinny grips?
« on: May 24, 2013, 03:43:21 AM »
I found that the skinny grips on the Trophy were bothering my hands--numbness mostly.  Had the same problem on my last bike and used the same solution.  Company name Original Grip Buddies makes a neoprene wrap that gives a bigger diameter and less slippery surface so you don't have to hold the grips as firmly.  Also, heated grips still work well with them.  Much better than the grip puppies.  I contacted the owner and found that their model # OGB-AB-SS fits the Trophy.

If you're having the same problem with yours, their website is:

Thanks I was looking for something like this.  I wonder if they ship to UK or if someone over here can cut up a few wet suits?

I just went to the local bicycle shop and picked up handlebar wrap.  Worked great.

I had the 'grip puppies' version on my last couple of bikes.  They do help with the Triumph grips that feel a bit hard.

Thanks for the reminder, that's another item on the list.

I have had a set of grip puppies on for a few weeks now and they do make a difference. The only thing I have found is that you need to put the heated grips on max in order to get heat through.

Never had a problem with the Grip Puppies and heated grips. Had them on both my Explorer and Trophy with heated grips. Never had the grips on high for very long as I found them to hot on high. I have a twice damaged finger now and do need the heat on to keep the that finger warm full on is to hot.
