Front brake "clunk" right before stopping

Seems I've developed a " clunk" coming from the front end that's audible right before the bike stops. Doesn't matter if I'm on the brakes hard or easy. Happens right before bike comes to a complete halt.

I'm thinking a brake pad may be a little loose. Was wondering what you were thinking.

    Thanks

Are you sure it's the front brake ?

This has happened to other Members, who found it was actually the Glove Box unlocking !

The Glove Box is designed to lock once the bike starts moving and unlocks again when you stop.

It could well be the solenoid operating that you can hear !

Find somewhere quiet to test, and if you feel coonfident enough to do this,
slow down gently to a stop with your left hand resting lightly on the Glove box,
to see if you can feel the solenoid operating at the same time that you hear the "clunk"  :028:

    Cheers  :821:

I'm not sure how a brake pad can be "loose". Maybe if the retaining pin is missing.  :114:

I'm going with Coconut on this one.

    Gentleman,

The grand prize winner of the morning is coconut. Looks to be the selenoid. "Who woulda have clunked it".

Is this some sign that it's needs to be replaced?......or is this just a buddy of the "low voltage" indicator that tends to give these vehicles "personality"?

    Thanks

The grand prize winner of the morning is coconut.

    Yay !  :085:

With the $$$'s you've just saved NOT stripping your Front Brakes down,
you can buy yourself a nice set of ear plugs to eliminate the "Clunk",
or to save even more, just turn up the Audio volume so you don't hear it at all !  :745:

Seriously though - I doubt it's anything to worry about,
and is proably something you've only just noticed,
rather than something that's started happening !

You'll probably also notice a "Clunk" when you set off now too,
as the Solenoid locks the Glove box  :169: !

    Cheers  :821:
