I get to ride my Scrambler to the dealer and come home on  my new blue Trophy SE!
5 hours and I'm in the wind, just a bit excited.
I'll miss you Scrambler, you've been a fun ride!

Always sad to say goodbye to an old bike but you will love the Trophy.

Doug Douglas Triumph is great, super smooth sales process and they made sure the bike was ready to go. A last minute firmware update was done after my test drive, I left knowing most of the major functions, but the computer will take a while.

68 miles on the Scrambler seemed long enough, had to battle tough, gusty crosswinds. I took the long way home on the TSE, Dealer told me of a back route along the foothills skipping half the freeway miles required to get home. It was a great section of road, very little traffic, long sweepers, tight turns, elevation changes and great scenery along the San Gabrial Mountain foothills. The 86 miles home was not enough, I want more!

Having owned a 2011 BMW RT I can say the Triumph is superior. I am tall and have more room, the seat is more comfortable, handlebar layout is better. The is no comparison power wise, the 1215 Triple smokes the BMW's boxer at all rpm's, this is one sweet motor. The Triumph's transmission is better, I prefer the gearing and shifting is smoother. At speeds above 15 MPH the Triumph out handles the Beemer, the BMW has the edge in slow speeds and parking but who really cares about that?  :008:

The only edge I'd give the RT is its computer system is more intuitive and user friendly. Some time with the Triumphs manual will be required.

Everything worked from start-up, plugged in my iphone after selecting a playiist and it auto-started. The only problem seems to be the TPS. At recommended pressures I still got an occasional low rear tire pressure warning. Triumph recommends 42 PSI, dealer says 38-40 is better and I agree. I hope there is a way to turn off TPS.

This is bike number 20, 14 in the last 12 years, this is a GREAT ride, Triumph has hit a home-run with a first year model.

More to come w/ pics.
