new left over 2014 trophy at dealership

Being an r1200rt rider, I've been trying to decide if I want a trophy or the R1200rt LC.  A dealer about a 90 minute ride away has a left over 2014 lunar silver trophy.  They're asking 14,000 for it.  They also have two used 2013 Trohphys.  They're asking 13000 for both.  Odd thing, one has 12,000 miles, the other has less than 2000 miles on it.  The higher mileage one is the pacific blue, and the low miler is the lunar silver.  Seems odd that they're asking the same price for same equipped bikes with 10K difference in miles on them.  The only thing I can think of is that the color of the used bikes is the where the price difference comes in.  To give you some history of this dealer, they are a HD dealer, but up until early last year, along with HD, they were a dealer for Triumph, Honda and had one other Japanese make.  They either decided, or were forced by HD to go exclusively HD.  I can understand dropping Triumph due to small sales volume, but I would think the Japanese brands they carried had to have decent sales numbers.  Especially considering they're in farm country, the ATV sales had to be decent.   So what are some thoughts on the Trohpys they have.

My thought is that if you go for one of them you should go for the 2014 assuming it has the factory warranty as if new.

With just a $1k difference in price it's a no brain er :084:,  go with the 2014, and forgo all the little problems the 2013 models had......cylinder head, gas tank, ecu, center stand. The 2013 models most likely had the last 3 fixed by the dealer as they are safety recalls, but the cylinder head, that's not a safety recall and the most expensive one to fix if you have to pay for it out of your own pocket.

The reason that the pre-owned Pacific Blue model with more miles costs the same as a lower mile Lunar Silver is simple; blue is considered the faster color!   :008:   The 2014 would be the better choice of the ones you mentioned; even though it's silver, and costs $1000 more.

I concur with the others, brand new 2014 model with factory warranty. Have you ridden the Trophy? I'd be curious to hear your comparison to the 1200RT.

    Theil's huh?

By the way, welcome from another Ohio rider. I'm over in beautiful Wayne County (Wooster).
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.
