    Dashcam for my bike

I've got a dashcam in my car and have been toying with getting one for the bike.

Took the plunge today and ordered an Innovv C3.

Looked at the Innovv K1 but don't really need the rear camera and all the extra features.

I'll take some photos when I fit it and maybe do a how to.

    Dave.

I just bought the K1 (haven't received it yet). I was unimpressed with the reviews and experience of the people who have the C3, mostly around longevity. I was hoping to mount the DVR box in front of me somewhere so that I can see behind me from the front, supplementing the mirrors.

I will be interested to see this fitted. Have been thinking for a while of fitting a fore and aft dash cam

I have a couple of friends with the C3 and they have had them for a while so fingers crossed.

The K1 looks like a really well featured item and it is a good idea about using the box as a rear view camera, however I've just bought a holiday home so am a bit skint at the moment and I probably wouldn't use most of the features of the K1 so C3 it is.

    OK fitted this morning.  :001:

Velcrod the control box on to the side of the glovebox. It is powered by the 12v socket and I had to drill a hole in the front of the glovebox to run the camera cable. Fitted a grommet and will seal it properly when I have a minute.

Took me ages to decide where to mount the actual camera but decided to mount it on the right hand side of the fairing just below the mirror housing. Then routed the cable around the front of the bike by taking of the panel under the headlight.

        :006:

Once I'd downloaded the correct set up program configuration was easy. Some of the reviews are a bit out of date and the newest config program must be used. It is available on the Innovv website.

Quality of the clips seems pretty good. You tube clip below but original quality was better. This video was done before I'd set it up properly. I have added a time stamp and also auto record. As soon as it detects power it automatically starts to record so I can just forget it is there.

It is better than that in the original footage. Youtube degrades the quality quite a bit.
