hugger fitting on SE

Mine failed as the others. Would not fit a replacement as extra weld does not fix the problem which I think is vibration snapping the bracket.

Puig make a hugger for the Explorer/Tiger which looks better made but even Puig can say if it will fit the Trophy even though it has the same shaft drive and wheel diameter. Anyone tried a Puig hugger?

The Tiger hugger does not fit the Trophy. The bracket is shaped different and the connecting arms do not cone close to aligning with the mount-points (Caliper bolts).

Guess Powerbronze didn't follow up with a recall or produce a better quality product to replace their, apparently, defective product .
Probably because the Trophy is no longer in production but, since they never really followed up this issue, other than replacing the defective product with the same, makes me, personally, not too keen on looking at their other products....just sayin'.

I totally agree with you.

Dare I say it but if you search around the net you'll find comments from other motorcycle owners moaning about the fit and finish of various PB products.

Personally I've never been tempted by their products in the past, I only have first hand experience of this hugger.

Doing the rear brakes on the ttse this morning and mines also broken off and disappeared , all i have left is the bracket , no harm done i've no idea when it  broke away
ordered a replacement im going to reinforce the area it broke away from either due to vibration but looks more like corrosion, or a combination of both.

I note this topic has been dormant for a few years but just to report that the rear hugger has fallen off my 2012 bike. Happened on a trip and I simply rode over it with the back wheel without realising. My
Mate behind asked me did I not see the big piece of plastic? Thought I’d missed something on the road. Got home to wash the bike and fake carbon hugger was gone. Ripped off at the joint of the support plate and mounting bracket. I’ve no idea if it was a powerbronze item or not as I didn’t fit it. I’ll not be replacing it. Far easier to wash the bike without it and could have caused a serious off or damage.

I guess I'm extremely lucky, mine has been on for 9 years.  I installed it shortly after I got the Trophy because I saw what was being thrown up and ending up residing on the bottom of the top case and bracket.  All a moot point at the moment since my Trophy's engine has bought the farm and looks to never see the road again.

Had one. I bough my TT in 2014, a 2013 model.
In 2019 Triumph dealer during service removed it and stated it was about to snap. Was rusted at welds.
Was going to have it refurbished and refitted but decided not to and had forgotten about it until now.

Never had one on any previous bike, if there was a safe model I might take the plunge.
