Greetings to all! Hoping to purchase a Trophy in about 3-4 weeks

    Hi all!
I am from England but working in Qatar... Go home for summer hols in 3 weeks  :001:
I test rode a new Trophy SE last summer in York - A1 Moto - loved it!!! That engine is a gem, love the sound and things like the screen being so adjustable - I get hearing problems so hope that the lack of wind noise may assist.

So now that it's nearly time to go home - and look at second hand SE's I thought it wise to see what the REAL road testers make of this splendid piece of high tech equipment!
At the moment it looks like they depreciate quite quickly? (probably the case with all big luxury bikes?)
So it seems to me that I can look at £9-£10k for one that's about 15000 miles and with the heated grips and maybe the top box included? Not too sure but will be advised.

I will trawl through all your threads to look out for issues to be aware off. But hope that this bike will make a brilliant partner to my BMW 650 Sertao.
All the best and the beer's are on me... Only joking!  :821:

Hi Colin Campbell and :400: to the Forum !

There are definitley some bargains to be had, but if you see a '62 plate SE
that has been repainted Cranberry Red with around 4500 miles on it,
at around £7000, don't touch it without checking with me first !

    Cheers  :821:

    Many thanks!
That sounds a bit worrying/suspicious?? Accident damaged - repaired?

    Cheers

Hi Johnbut! Thought there might be some knocking about the Wolds! I am so looking forwards to getting home for a bit of R&R. Hope to bump into you and other locals perhaps. One shop I have just come across and will visit is near Durham. Looks like some nice machines there. Billau motorcycles. Not sure how they are but they answer questions promptly.

    Cheers

I found A1at York very good, the last time I was there they had a used Trophy We and a demonstrator so it might be worth checking with them.

I too like the staff and set up at A1. Have tested a T'Bird Commander there too. What was amusing last year was the salesman when I returned the Trophy... he was laughing as he knew I'd be smitten!

Looked on the A1 site recently and didn't see a TT listed.. Will have a shufty now, thanks.

I have a Thruxton 900 out here in Qatar and am now hopefully selling it if anyone will buy.... A lot of Ex-pats were axed with allthe cuts to oil/gas... If it doesn't sell will ship next year. Very expensive etc.

    Take care
    Col
