Road Rage
« on: May 31, 2016, 06:47:34 pm »
I posted this on another forum that I frequent because I was riding my Thunderbird yesterday instead of my TTSE when this happened.
I had just passed this group just before the incident occured. I thought I'd post it here:

I had just past thru this intersection today on my Thunderbird when this occurred. Just unbelievable. Both rider and passenger were slightly injured and taken to the hospital. The cage driver was caught and arrested a couple of miles down the road with a flat tire. Here's the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SrqxFVIsSc

UPDATE: It was on the local news this morning. Witnesses said that the cage driver ran the lead rider off the road doing a lane change about a block before the incident. When they got to the traffic light, words were exchanged, then the cage driver went berserk. Yes, he did have previous road rage and driving infractions and arrests. They were a group of veterans doing a Memorial Day ride.

There are some crazy, crazy people out there  :005:

Sadly you never know just HOW crazy until it's too late  :087:

I've posted my thoughts previously about how to deal with them,
which is basically NOT rising to any challenge or "taking the bait" - just let them go,
and even turn off / take a different route if necessary,
forget about them, and get on with enjoying the rest of your ride - safely ! :169:

You're absolutely right about that. 4000LBS vs 1000LBS and the 4000 will win every time.

I see this on another channel that I also go to.
First let me say I am Thankful they are both ok.
Second he should be VERY glad the cops got to him before I did. You cannot win a battle with a car.

That was out and out........(shut up dave).

Good on you for the video. I hope it helps to put him behind bars for a LONG time.

Damonk45, I didn't shoot the video, and I never saw the incident. I was out riding my thunderbird yesterday and passed these riders just a couple of minutes before the incident. I had just ridden thru that intersection going the opposite direction, and gave them the friendly wave as I passed them. A witness in a vehicle going the same direction as the group, saw the cage driver driving erratically and cut the lead rider off, running him off the road during a lane change. The witness stated that he knew there was going to be trouble because they caught up to the car at the red light. He started shooting video when words were exchanged. I didn't know anything about the incident until I got home and saw it on the local news. I knew it was the same group that I had passed because of the time the incident occurred, and the intersection it happened at.

I did see this on the news tonight.
They said the guy in the car did not even have a license to drive.
He's in jail and with his past it looks to be for a long time.
The news also reported a large increase in Road Rage , be careful you never know what may set someone off.
