    Hello all,

in the market for some new summer short boots / shoes. Anybody get any recommendations??

Thinking probably of a pair that will double as day shoes when touring in summer so I can cut down the need to carry trainers etc.

Quite like the look of either

    Sidi Gas boots
    TCX X-Square sports boots
    Dainese Motorshoe D-WP Boots
    Alpinestars Fastback

But willing to entertain other suggestions

Also consider some of the "air" boots instead of going low and less protection.  The "air" boots have perforated panels to let the air flow through the boots.

I use the Tourmaster Water Proof Air boots.  Good ventilation and still water proof.

I ride in Texas in 95+ degree F. and wear Daytona M-Stars due to needing the extra elevation.  They are leather, GoreTex lined, and I can't find a problem with the heat in them, and they even keep my feet from GETTING hot.  Are they totally comfortable to walk around in for a stroll, probably not. Try the Webbikeworld.com website for some unbiased tests/reviews of a lot of brands of boots for specific seasons and you may find a solution.  I have no affiliation with them, just use the reviews.  Good luck and safe riding in Jolly Old!

On long multi-day rides, I wear Daytona GTX full boots.  Otherwise, my commuter & weekend boot is the Icon Super Duty 3 (I think they're up to Super Duty 4 now).  Only a half boot, but very sturdy & much more comfortable to walk around in than the Daytonas.  Not much in the way of ventilation, but I've never been uncomfortable in them in the SoCal summers.  Best of luck in your search!

I bought some triumph short boots when they were on offer.  I even wear them with my suit although the they do say triumph in the side they look ok.  The only issue is lower leg protection they do give some support and protection but not very high.  In the early days (long time ago).  I used to use short boots when racing sidecars and didn't have problems until they were banned.

Just looked at triumph site and they don't seem to do the books any more.
