Good Morning Guys....Had me Blue TTSE only a month, and I am slowly getting the extras.  My question is which GPS unit are you using, Garmin, Tomtom. Which model And why? And how did you power it?

    Thanks in advance.

I have a Garmin 590lm, mounted to the Garmin cradle on the Triumph mount. I bought it at a substantial discount as a branded Can-Am model from eBay.

On my last trip, I used furkot.com to create my trip and downloaded it to the Garmin. One of the days' routes froze up the GPS and it wouldn't calculate the route for that day. I had multiple paper backups, but I just put the addresses in for the day as I went and it showed me where to go. That would have sucked if I had programmed a specific route that day.

Getting off the highway, sometimes it confuses you and/or doesn't tell you which way to turn, which resulted in my doing a little extra site-seeing twice, right when I was exhausted and wanting to be getting off the bike and checking into my hotel -- that was annoying.

Garmin 660 , it fits right on the Triumph mount and its plug and play , it interacts with the bike sound system and will cut off any music playing and will give the instructions over the speaker , music returns when message is finished . In addition I have a Sena set ( intercomm with other bikes etc ) and instructions will come in your ears if such a system is installed.

Zumo 660 Maple farkles mount, I cut all wires from the cradle save the pos/neg and added a two wire plug and plug it into the battery tender plug direct to the battery.   Do not like to cut into or splice OEM wires.

The fist two Trophy's I had my trusty Zumo 550. Since returning from the Explorer I've treated myself to a Zumo 390LM. As you can see I've had Garmins for quite a few years and found no reason to change. Cant comment on the TomTom never owned one :110:
I use Garmin's basecamp for route planning and although take a bit of getting used to :138: :138: Once mastered works pretty good :028: :028: :028:
As with all things get what suites you then get the best deal you can :821:

Tom Tom Rider 400 mounted on the Triumph Trophy GPS mount. It works a treat: secure, in the correct position, turns from landscape to portrait.
