    zumo 660 speed warning sounds
    on: Jun 30, 2016, 11.59 am
    Jun 30, 2016, 11.59 am
    Morning,
Does anyone know how to turn off the speed warning sounds on the garmin zumo 590 660 ?
It is fine with the sound turned off. As soon as I put the sound on, it tells me about speed restriction zones which have long since disappeared.
There is a section of the m5, which had a 14 mile long section of 50mph speed limit for about 2 years. 4 years ago
It makes its really irritating bonging noise right the way along it.
How do I turn them off but still have guidance voice on?
    Thanks

    Nick

    From Garmin:

To Turn audible speed alerts on or off on the zumo 395 and 595:

    Touch Settings
    Touch Map and Vehicle
Scroll down to Audible Rider Alerts
Check or uncheck the box next to Speed Limit Exceeded

    Audible Rider Alerts
..... According to the ( zumo 590 ) Manual on Garmin's Web Site,
this might also be called "Audible Speed Alerts"

    Thanks very much.
I have scrolled through the menus looking, but could only find a way to turn it off altogether. Not just the sounds.
    I will take another look.
    Cheers.

Apologies all. It is a zumo 660.
There is a setting for garmin safety cameras. Under proximity points.
    then proximity alerts.
There is an audio notification button.
    You can then choose
    Single tone
    continuous tone or off.
It was already set to single tone. Problem is, it picks up on where users have tagged a long timed speed camera section and lets you know about every one. This means it goes off every three seconds for 14 miles.
    Off it is then...
    Thanks
    Nick

Well, glad you found it. The POI file that contains the camera locations could be edited and reloaded.
    You will need POI loader.

For the benefit of anyone searching for this in future,
and to avoid confusion, I have changed the title of the Topic from
"zumo 590 speed warning sounds", "to "zumo 660 speed warning sounds".
