    Just joined the club!

    Hi All,

I just collected my 2015 TTSE.  It was a private sale and I rode it back on Friday from near Preston, to where I live near Loughborough in the East Midlands.  This is my 5th bike since getting back to biking about 3 years ago.  I enjoy modding and farkling, but I realised that at the end of the day I was trying to turn every bike into a touring bike (bigger screens, more luggage, etc) as really that is the sort of riding I enjoy most. My previous bike, which I have got up for sale now, was a 2015 Versys 1000.  My wife has only recently started riding pillion and we have done one big tour round southern Greece on the Versys, and although it coped pretty well it made me feel that a dedicated tourer was the way to go.

I narrowed it down to the TT and  BMW RT.  I tried an RT first, a 2013 air cooled model, but I didn't like the surprisingly inflexible and vibey engine, though the handling and comfort was good.   My wife hated it - she said that the Versys was more comfortable and had less wind and engine noise for the pillion, and much less vibration.  I then tried a Silver 2013 TTSE from a local non-Triumph dealer.   We both enjoyed the test ride and seriously thought about buying the bike if I could get a good trade-in.   However I decided I would prefer a bike with some warranty, and preferably in my favourite colour which is black.   I found a June 2015 registered example for sale privately for only slightly more money that the 2013 dealer example, with both bikes having just under 5000 miles, so decided to go for it.

Everything seems fine with the new bike (apart from it being a beast to get on the centre stand!), though I am pretty sure that the gearbox is a bit clunkier than the 2013 model I tried, as that bike was nearly as slick changing as my Versys.  Any thoughts on that would be welcome.  I've previously been active on the Honda NC and Kawasaki Versys forums, so I'm looking forward to getting involved here, though I guess I will initially be getting up to speed by absorbing a lot of useful information from the forum rather than making much of a contribution.  Some pics below.

    Fred

Hello and welcome! :400: Looks like you have picked up a great example. With regard to getting a slick gear change.... best advice I can give is don't fully pull in the clutch lever when changing, you only need it about half pulled and then it will be as smooth as silk!

    Welcome!

The bike is a beauty. Both of you enjoy it please.
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.
