    Radio won't turn on
    on: Jul 22, 2016, 03.40 am
    Jul 22, 2016, 03.40 am
Today I rode 700 mile ride and had turned radio off on bike and just used phone synced to sena until battery died then wanted to use bike audio again and it would not turn on. Stopped for gas and still no luck.   Any ideas.

Check 10A  fuse at position #3 of the front fuse box.  If not that then check the audio unit located under the riders seat and under the storage box. There are a few cables to check.

If I remember correctly, you have to pull this fuse completely out and reinstall to reset the audio.

If all the electrical connections seem to be OK,
check what Audio Software Version you have - it's easy to check :

With the Ignition ON ( but don't start the engine ) and the Radio turned OFF
( Volume all the way down to Minimum, Mute and Off ),
Press and hold the "P" button until the "DIAGNOSTICS" menu is displayed.
Scroll to the S/W VERSION item, and press Select.

Latest Version for US market is 1.04E

If you have anything earlier than this, such as 1.04A or lower numbers,
then you need to get it updated by your Dealer.

There is already PLENTY of information about this in the Forum,
just SEARCH for "Audio Update", but basically there was a bug in the earlier software versions
that prevented the Audio system from shutting down properly causing the main battery to be flattened !

Not sure if the problem you are having might also be due to a glitch on the earlier software version.

I returned from my trip and checked few things out.  Don't find any loose connection and has the latest software.  It will turn on for about 5-15 seconds most of the time then just shut off again  not touching bike at all.
