Import, Duties, Taxes for product ordered from UK, shipped to US.

    Hello everyone.
I have a shopping cart full of goodies from the R&G Racing website (based in UK), but before I hit the buy button, I wanted to know if anyone in the US has ordered Trophy accessories from them and if they were unpleasantly surprised by additional taxes, duties and/or import fees?

I'm not talking about hidden fees from R&G Racing, I'm talking about fees associated when the package hits the states.
I want to order the adventure bars, down pipe grill, radiator guard, fork and swing arm protectors and Denali Soundbomb mini.

I may be over thinking this, but I know some of you have had recent experience with this.

Thank you in advance for your tips and experience.

It's a good time to buy from the U.K with the Exchange Rate the way it is right now !

IIRC no Duty or Tax is charged for Imports into the U.S. if the order value is less than $800,
but it would be best to check with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency directly  :169:

    Cheers  :821:

Have you looked at Pure-Triumph? Located in Florida, they carry R&G items.

Wish I needed some R&G stuff so I could go to England and arrange with them to pick them up there and hand carry them back to the states in my luggage - two or three weeks or more later of course.  :153:

Coconut is correct, goods under $800 US value can be imported in to the USA without any duty

Goods over that value marked as race parts (rather than for a street bike) attract 2.4% duty and normally a $10 clearance free from the courier to do the paper work - that fee of $10 may be charged even on goods under the limit just to do the customs clearance but its no big deal.

We ship around a dozen parcels a week to the USA using UPS and FedEx so I am certain this is correct

Even if the amount is over $800, the customs are very reasonable - I've had two bikes shipped here from the UK (value >$5000), and the US Customs was less than 2% on those (although the 2.4% for parts quoted may be right 5 years later).

I wouldn't let it stop me from buying the parts I wanted.  And with the pound at $1.30 or so, it's a good time.

Thank you very much to each of you for your feedback.  I feel more confident in placing my order, now.
