    .50 Cal Antenna

    Hey, Guys (and Gals).

I thought I would share this random find as I was looking for a replacement antenna.
XSV and I both put them on our bikes and it is a conversation piece that is a little inconspicuous.
It's an aluminum billet replica of a .50 cal round.  They also have a .30 (shorter) and a .762mm in different colors and patterns.
    It's some "bad ass" bling.   :062: :152:
I can't speak for the AM/FM reception as of yet, because we just put it on last night.  I know it works, but I don't know if it works better, worse or the same.

    Timo.

    Hmm  :084:

Maybe it's because of the culture on this side of the Pond, but  :110:  Don't like it.

Yep, in the U.S. we like our guns.

It is a little "redneck", but then again if our bikes were all the same, life would be boring. :001:

    Hey Guys.

I honestly did not foresee a negative response like this, but understand your point of view, and respect your opinion.
I didn't think about the major culture difference between the US and many other countries, as it relates to firearms.
Of course, this post was never intended to insult anyone.
I can see where this item would be much more appealing to Americans because of our Second Amendment (right to keep and bear arms).  This item puts a smile on my face when I see it because it's different and has certain meanings and interpretations that are important to me.

To each his own, as they say.  I hope some other members and visitors of this forum see this as a good find to further personalize their motorcycles, hence, the reason for sharing.
It's all good and I really like reading this forum.
We all have something in common, which is this amazing bike.  Keep farkling and blinging away to make it your unique bike.  There's more to come on my bike.    :490:  :123:
    Keep the rubber side down!

    Timo.

Nothing against firearms, as I'm in a firearms related business and own plenty. But, just from a looks point of view, I like the look of the stubby antenna a little better. Like you said, everyone likes to personalize to their own likes, and that's all that matters.

When I see this kind of accessorizing I tend to think, 'Merica! (For those who might not be familiar with that phrase, see here: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=merica&defid=7095352.)

I'm glad to read your measured response to some of the reaction so far, although I didn't sense that anyone is offended, just that the majority chiming in (so far) don't seem to prefer it. Many on the forum may not prefer lots of things we do to our TT's -- different cans, R&G bars, running/aux lights, etc.

Like you said, to each their own. Thanks for sharing your farkling!
