The ignition key must be turned to the on position for the USB to have power, U probably already knew that, but just in case...

The TTSE doesn't work with MP3 players, only USB drives and Apple iPod/iPhone products. If your device isn't an Apple device, must present as a mass storage device.

My Trophy works with a Grundig - MP3 player, may depend on data Type (FAT)

That's my experience too, my Creative player didn't really work, I'm using an SD card in a plug in USB card reader basically. :002:

The Owners Audio Manual doesn't help by describing :

Suitable audio devices (such as MP3 players)
or media storage devices (such as USB
drives) can be connected to the audio system
via the 'type A' USB (USB 1.1 and 2.0
    compatible) connection in the cockpit
    stowage compartment.
It's only when you delve a bit deeper into the Manual that you discover
a "suitable" MP3 Player is one of the devices listed on the Specifications pages,
and they are indeed all Apple devices such as iPhones, iPods, iPod Nano etc.

MP3 files can be played off a USB stick in the USB Port.
