Mountains, fast airplanes, and the Trophy
« on: June 05, 2013, 02:10:53 AM »
In September I'm going to do my first BIG ride.  From Southern California, winding my way through the Sierras including the giant Sequoias and Yosemite, to end in Reno for the Air Races! All told I will be going over 1300 miles over 7 days.  I am seriously stoked!

The roads I will be going on through the Sierras are among some of the best in the US.

Ride carefully.  Remember no one on the road care as much about you as you!

Take Hwy 70 across the Sierra, stop in Quincy for lunch. Hwy 108 is also a good crossing. I am taking Hwy 4 across later this month. I'll let ya know how it is.

I'll be on Hwy 108 and Hwy 4 and others.  Here is my planned route: (sorry I don't know how to hide the link with friendly text)

Use extreme caution in the Tahoe area, all the cages are looking at the lake and not the road.

I did the sequioa / yosemite thing last month from long beach. In a few weeks I'll be riding up to the canadian rockies. And coming back down along the Columbia river and oregon and California coast. It'll be about 4K miles and 9 or 10 days

Wow, will that be spectacular! I want to make it up to the giant redwoods and on up into the cascades someday.  Enjoy it!
