Why I Wouldn't Want Anything Other Than A Trophy

I like the Trophy on so many levels.
The Motor is the heart and sets the whole experience above all the others.
The Geometry makes it handle great.
Fuel it has a lot and with that you can go a long way , that's another reason I like it.
Fast ,  Well I can tell you thought my 2slow name is a reminder to Slow down it's hard to do so.
Traveling with a Trophy is easy it gives you everything you need and more or at least it does for you me.
I feel bad for others that haven't had the luck to Discover a Trophy like I have.
In nine months I have 11,000 miles with no issues Knock on Wood.
I'm going to rack up as many miles as I can in my 24 month unlimited mileage warranty.

Please let me expound on your enthusiasm for this Triumph.    My recent background of bikes going back approximately the last 15 years are:

    Honda Goldwing 1800
    Yamaha FZ-1
    Yamaha V-max
    Honda ST1300 ABS
    Honda VFR1200F DCT
    Honda 919
    Honda CBR929RR, CBR600RR, CBR1000RR, CBR600RR (another one!),
    Honda CB1100 ABS
Kawasaki ZX-6R (an absolute scalpel on the racetrack!)

I only list those to show I've had some truly great motorcycles, with some fantastic power plants.

The 1215cc Triumph triple that powers my Explorer and Trophy, is one of the most pleasant, tractable, smooth, engaging, easy-to-service, comfortable (in terms of undesirable radiated heat) engines I've had the pleasure of operating.

I don't know if I could successfully articulate how happy I am with Triumph---but you pretty much did that for me in your post!       :821:

The world is divided into 10 types. Those who understand the binary system and those who don't.

I have a Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 in addition to the Trophy, and I can't say that the Trophy is a "better" motorcycle to ride.   The Guzzi had some quality-control problems from the factory which have all been fixed now (which I don't expect on the Triumph since I suspect they don't serve grappa in the factory canteen).

The Guzzi is a "different" bike - a twin, an "adventure touring" style; the Triumph has better weather protection, the Guzzi is about 50 pounds lighter and much easier to work on , the Triumph has more widgets on it (although I don't use many of them).   Both of them handle a 500-pound payload of riders and luggage very well, they both ride and handle well, and have plenty enough power.

Sometimes its a coin flip as to which one we take on a long trip!

I've had others following me on rides and are amazed how the Trophy handles.

I agree with everyone!  I've never had a "touring" bike unless the Tiger counts.  But the first block down the street on that fateful test ride and I said to myself THIS is how a motorcycle should feel!
The RT I rode immediately after was actually a let down, and I totally was anticipating the opposite outcome.
I don't see myself getting rid of the TTSE until I wear her out....

I almost fully agree with the first line. However, I disagree with your remark on the 2d.
Thinking of my experiences with so many other makes and models, I thought about one particular thing I miss on the Trophy: GRUNT!
Those who, for example, rode bikes like the Sprint ST 955i, the Sprint RS, the Sprint 1050 ST and the Sprint 1050 GT know what I mean.
Another silencer could make more (illegal) noise but that is not what I am missing. The main sound I hear at almost every speed is mechanical noise where I am looking for a grizzly making speed to catch you. Not just a pet. Listen to the Trophy and one of the other bikes while accelerating and you 'll probably wish Triumph should have sought for that part of sound experience.
