    Blue "Parking Light" - Check

Low level LED spots - Check

Turn Signal "Day Running" conversion - Check

As a last resort, a Nautilus Air Horn!

Oh, - and as a final last resort, a Dash Cam

    Looking awesome!   :046:

Edit - what is this "Day running" conversion you speak of?

    Day Running Lights Conversion

This involves replacing the front indicators (turn signals to the Colonials) with a changeover relay with a 6 ohm resistor across it to maintain the correct flash rate. The existing indicator bulb is then fed from the "parking light" with one leg of this feed going through the normally closed contact of the relay.

The result of this is the indicator bulb is lit whenever the ignition is switched on. When the turn signal is operated, the relay operates in time and the normally closed contact flashes the indicator in reverse cadence.

There is room inside the mirror pods for the relay and resistor.

If anyone's interested, I'll do a proper "How To". Let me know.

    Dash Cam

See Ebay Item 131755856577 as an example. Whilst this unit is not weatherproof, it so dry behind
the screen as to not present a problem.

Around £15.00. It won't successfully attach to the screen as, when the screen parks, there's not enough room; moving the screen position moves the camera image and if fitted via the suction cup it's too easy to be stolen.

The base of the camera has a standard threaded camera mount so I fitted a bracket and mount in the location of the Sat Nav blank plate. It's powered via the Glove Box socket. This means that it automatically turns on and off. The length of recording is governed by the size of the memory card. In case of an incident either unplug the unit or remove the memory card to prevent any wanted images being overwritten.

Technically, mounted "as above", images are recorded upside down but this is easilly flipped in Movie Maker.

    Nautils Mounting

I followed a previous "How To" in this forum mounting the Nautilus on the right hand side where the existing "neep neep" is fitted.

That looks great, and I'm sure it will improve your visibility, but is it legal to fit a blue light to a bike in the UK? If so, I'd like a flashing one!
