    I've got a lemon

Bought my 2013 Trophy SE in 2014 with 850 miles on the clock. loved riding and covered just over 10000 miles on her without a hitch THEN !!!!!!!
Screen stopped working taken to the nearest dealer 100 miles away and left with them 3 weeks later new ECU fitted screen still not working another 3 week pass new screen motor fitted screen still not working and workshop unable to get ECU to talk to diagnostic equipment?
2 months have now passed with the bike in the workshop Triumph have come up with various suggestions but to no avail.
Mechanic checks wiring and finds excessive corrosion in fuse box and wiring loom.
Month 3 wiring loom ordered and fitted (3weeks to fit )
Bike now three years old and requires a MOT same mechanic notices day before it was due to be completed leaking from fork seal "OH WE WILL HAVE TO ORDER THAT" should be fixed in a week or two.
If I ever get my bellowed Trophy back it will have been over 4 months in the workshop have its third ECU, new screen motor, new wiring loom and fork seal. Then time to trade her in.
In fairness to Triumph all works except the oil seal have been done as a good will gesture, but the combination of the workshops lack of due diligence has not inspired any confidence should anything happen again. The next dealership is 180 miles away and not interested unless te bike was purchased from them.
I don't think I would buy Triumph again which has saddened me as my previous Tiger was a very reliable bike even when I came of her.

Sorry to hear that. I think you were very unlucky. Most of us have found the TTSE to be very reliable.

Best of luck sorting it out .
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.

I assume by lemon you mean the shop working on your bike? Because it sounds like a relatively easy to fix problem that your shop has fouled up almost beyond belief.

A bit of both The shop have been a nightmare never returning calls and one excuse after another even when I offered to pay cash just to get the job done, only one mechanic who is able to work on bike.
It has been a constant fight with Triumph and some threats along the way

4 months in the shop, totally unacceptable. Definitely some issues with the shop regardless what the issue or issues might have been. Sorry to hear that you've had to go thru that.

Even if it was a lemon, don't let it sour you on the brand. I can tell you that every manufacturer produces lemons, you might have just suffered the luck of the draw, I drew it on a lemon Honda Goldwing, and they're suppose to be rock solid. I've had two and the other was no problems at all.

    Aitken65,

I would also suggest it's time to go above the heads of the Dealer,
and make contact dirrectly with Triumph.

Put everything in writing and send it by post or email to them ( contact details on Triumph's web site ),
explaining how disappointed you are at being let down by such a prestige marque,
and asking what they can do to intervene and put things right.

    Cheers  :821:

Yes... the bike should not have had problems but the real bad guy here is the dealership who aren't providing the expertise or service you deserve either.

An email or letter to Triumph UK I am sure will get a very different response.
