TPMS Mounting Orientation

So I disassembled my wheels in preparation for powder coating. The TPMS has a rounded tapered edge on one end and a straight blunt on the other.
Are they directional? If so does the round end go in direction of your tire spin or the opposite blunt end in direction of wheel spin?

Hi Xsv,
The TPMS Sensor Part Number kit is A9640169.
Installation instructions can be downloaded here :
Triumph Instructions.com
... Enter the above Part Number and select your language.
According to those instructions :
Ensure for kits A9640056, A9640057, A9640168 and
A9640169
the tyre valve is pointing to the right hand side of the wheel when fitted to the motorcycle.
( The line drawing of a sensor in the instructions appears to be different to the ones used on the Trophy ).
Going by the Line drawing in the Service Manual, with the tyre valve pointing to the right side of the Trophy,
this would have the rounded end of the Sensor pointing in the direction of Rotation
Today's TOP TIP : On the next disassembly job - take Photo's beforehand
! !
Cheers

I must admit, the direction/mounting position of these things wouldn't have been in my mind either,.....so you can't choose which side of the bike the valves point out towards either I take it???

I'm only going by what it says in the Installation instructions.
I can't think why they would say this if it
would
work the other way round
!
Cheers

You can certainly choose which direction in which to point the valve stem. The way these things are designed you could certainly install them with valve stem left or valve stem right, round end forward or straight edge forward.
I will go round end forward and see what happens.
I was able to find the answer to the same question over at the Zgttr forum. (Concours c14). The opinion was it did not matter which end was leading.
I did the same thing to my concourse in order to powder coat the rims. I can't remember which way I mounted the damn thing
Thanks for the input!

Actually I blame Triumph for this conundrum. Had they powder coated my wheels the right color to begin with I would not be hassling with this!!!
Silver wheels on a black bike.....wth?!!!!
Will look much better black on black !!!

I hate when I search for a topic, find a thread and there is no definitive end to it.
I mounted the TPMS with the round end leading into the rotation and they are working like they are supposed to.
