    Locked glove box

I suspect there is an existing thread on this but I couldn't find one.  At about 46,000kms, I noticed my glove box lid was open and closed it.   :151:  Since then I haven't been able to open my glove box (I have used the glove box a lot previously so I know what SHOULD happen).
I just had the bike in for its 48,000km service and their solution is to break it and replace.  Although the replacement is not that expensive, it's operation is similar to how the glove box worked on a previous BMW K1200LT I owned and I had similar problems with that and it was easily fixed.
Has anybody had similar problems and know how to fix it?  I have a workshop manual (as well as software and connector).

Mine sometimes stick every now and then, its happened maybe three or four times. I just push the button and if it doesn't open, I push down and release on the lid with my other hand quickly and it opens. A couple of months ago, I took it out and cleaned it up a little and it hasn't happened since then, so hopefully it was just dirty.

Ditto. Hasn't happened in a while, and I have to open it every time I ride because the button for my garage door opener is mounted inside the box.

I've also been able to open it with power off twice, but I assume I didn't close it all the way.

It's not a great design is it, I too have had to use two hands on it, one to push the button, the other to gently pull up the lid.

Thanks for your responses but I have done the 2 hand thing already and it doesn't work.  It looks like the down button is stuck down.  :084: Triumph would have been more helpful if they simply put a lock keyed to the ignition key - but they haven't.

I always forgot to open the flap before turning off to turn the ipod off so I have removed the solenoid.  One day I might get round to fitting a hidden switch to power the solenoid but for the moment it is fine to just remove it.   Now I can open it anytime.

I did the same and haven't looked back.

    +2 on removing the solenoid.
